This bursary scheme has been created to encourage and support the personal and professional development of coaches and leaders working in West Yorkshire through subsidising the cost of National Governing Body qualifications. We currently have two funding strands to the bursary scheme.
Please read the full details of the priorities and eligibility of each funding strand before applying:

Priority will be given to coaches and leaders who are:
There are two themes to the Inclusive Coaching Stream:
1. Coaches undertaking sport specific inclusion training / qualifications - funding is available to support coaches to attend sport specific NGB disability / inclusion modules or qualifications. (This does not include scUK workshops). Coaches and leaders can apply for up to 50% of the cost of the module / qualification.
2. People with a disability who wish to qualify as a coach - Funding is available to support individuals to gain Level 1 or 2 Coaching Awards or a recognised National Governing Body Leadership Award. It can fund up to 75% of the cost of these qualifications up to a maximum of £150 for Leadership awards and Level 1 coaching qualifications, and up to £300 for Level 2 coaching qualifications.
For further information please read the full details of the Inclusive Coaching scheme before applying to the bursary scheme.
This strand of the bursary is limited to the following sports: Badminton, Boccia, Fencing, Handball, Table Tennis, Volleyball, and Wheelchair Basketball.
This stream also supports individuals to gain Level 1 and Level 2 coach qualifications, and will fund up to 75% of the cost of these qualifications.

The generic WY Coach and Leader Bursary Scheme is currently closed for applications. We are seeking further funding to support people to gain coaching and leadership qualifications.
Bursaries can not be awarded if the application is received once the qualification has started.
The Scheme will only fund qualification costs and fees. It will not fund additional modules (e.g. first aid and safeguarding), accommodation or any other associated expenses or costs.
